Day 120 of Firsts: Go to a Designer Trunk Show

I base most of my fashion sense on what doesn't itch. ~Gilda Radner

I really didn't know what a trunk show was.  I just imagined dresses coming out of some designer's trunk.

Tonight NBC 10's Dawn Timmeney offered to give me a little trunk show fashion lesson at Piazza Sempione where she was hosting a charity event at the King of Prussia Mall.

Now Dawn is a va va voom fashionista. I couldn't wait to see what she'd be wearing. Check this out.

Wow! The blue dress is divine on Dawn.

If you're like me, you're wondering why the models are  wearing winter clothes. Apparently, at a trunk show you buy a couple of seasons in advance to get a big discount and be comforted in the knowledge you probably won't see anyone else wearing your outfit.

Me? I don't know a lot about fashion. I'm an off the rack girl. When it's Spring, I'm buying Spring clothes.

But NBC 10 makeup artist Carie Brescia (who also has her own makeup line)  knows her way around designer clothes. I asked her to pick something.

Forget the price! I had to try it on.

No, I did not get the orange trench! But it was fun to pretend maybe I could.

Anyway, the great thing is some of the proceeds from sales tonight went to the Crohns and Colitis Foundation.

I didn't see any trunks, but the designs were gorgeous for a great cause.

Meanwhile, if you've been following the blog, I just wanted to tell you my dog Angel is doing better today. She's eating and a little perkier.  It was not looking so good when I blogged last night.  Fortunately, I think she's going to be okay. We'll know in a couple of days.
