Day 140 of Firsts: Go Down Biggest Wooden Slide

A grownup is a child with layers on. ~Woody Harrelson
I can't remember the last time I went down a slide. Well, I took care of that today.

A friend told me about a one of a kind GIANT WOODEN SLIDE in PhiladelphiaIt may be the largest in the country. Who knew?  It's not exactly a secret, but it's not really well publicized either.  (Check out my great "sliding outfit." )

The slide is 13 feet wide and 39 feet long and it's slick and fast! It's at Smith playground in East Fairmount Park in Philadelphia.

The trusts of Richard and Sarah Smith established the playground in 1897.  Look at this picture!

Smith playground is free and it's so much more than what I'm showing you here. What a great place to take your kids. But don't act like YOU'RE too big to get on the slide. This one's a great little ride.
